Australian actor Leslie Dayman has died at the age of 85.
The Victorian-born TV and film star - whose career spanned more than 50 years - passed away on 20th October 2023.
No cause of death has been given.
Dayman launched his career in theatre in 1955 before landing the role of Bill Hudson in '60s crime drama, Homicide.
He starred in several hit shows throughout the eighties and nineties, including in E Street as Senior Sergeant George Sullivan, Sons and Daughters as businessman Roger Carlyle and inmate Geoff McRae in Prisoner.
Dayman also appeared in multiple other beloved local productions, including All Saints, Water Rats, Stingers, Blue Murder and A Country Practice.
His film credits included Gallipoli, Holy Smoke, Oscar & Lucinda, Molly, and The Silence.
Dayman's former E Street co-star, Marianne Howard, confirmed the sad news with a tribute on social media, writing: "Rest in Peace beautiful Les Dayman. Couldn't have wished for a better on-screen dad in my E Street days."
She continued: "Your gorgeous eyes always reminded me of my dad's eyes so it was so lovely to play your daughter. PS. Interesting fun fact - we shared the same birthday!"
Dayman is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rose, and his sons, Nicholas and Timothy, whom he shares with ex-wife, Diane Chamberlain.
