What are the different types of tribute notices published?

The below classifications can be booked:

Death Notices - announce the passing of a loved one or pay tribute to someone who has recently passed.

Tributes & Condolences - send messages of condolence to family and friends of someone who has passed or pay tribute to the deceased on an anniversary.

Bereavement Thanks - thank those who have cared for or paid tribute to someone who has passed.

Funeral Notices - advise family, friends and the community of the funeral, wake, celebration of life details. Usually placed by Funeral Directors but can be placed by next of kin.

Memorial Services - advise family, friends and the community of details of a memorial or mind mass service.

Funeral Directors and Services - for Funeral Directors and those who provide end of life services to advertise.

What is the difference between a Funeral notice and a Death notice?

Death notices are placed to announce a recent passing whereas Funeral notices include the details of the Funeral, Celebration of Life, Wake or Memorial Service.

Publications printing in Qld and NSW allow a combined Death and Funeral notice to be printed.

How long does a notice remain online?

All Death, Funeral or Tribute/Condolence notices remain online indefinitely unless an end date is requested.

The Premium Obituary service includes your choice of quarter, half or full page story that will be published in both print and online at www.mytributes.com.au/obituaries/.

A digital eulogy allows those who would like to share a copy of the eulogy or their story in a long form article on My Tributes.

How do I place a notice?

Go to newsconcierge.com.au .

Click on Log In/Sign Up.

Click on Sign Up.

Enter details.

Click on New Order and follow prompts.

What is News Concierge?

News Concierge is our online self-service platform for our customers seeking the flexibility to place their classified ads online at any time.

What exactly is the digital listing portion of my booking?

A digital listing is an online notice published on mytributes.com.au.

Is it possible to publish a print notice across multiple locations and multiple publications?

Yes it is. Our offers allow you to easily choose multiple publications, across different locations.

What happens if death occurs interstate or overseas?

When a death occurs interstate or overseas, proof of passing is required.

What are the methods of confirming passing?

Death Certificate

Confirmation of passing from the Funeral and Cremation Home

Coroners case number

Should Funeral or Memorial notices be placed by the Family/Next of Kin or the Funeral Director?

Funeral or Memorial notices can be placed by either the Funeral Director or by a Family Member/Next-of-Kin.

What if I don't know the Funeral Director/Cremation Home?

If you're not able to provide formal confirmation of death, the process we follow is to place your notice on-hold for up to 5 business days allowing for this to come in from parties such as Funeral Directors.

After this period, if we do not receive a formal confirmation one of our Customer Support Team members will call you, provided you have supplied a phone number on your account. At that time you can either publish the notice or wait until formal confirmation is received.

How are notices sorted? (notices from brother, friend or club etc)

Notices are sorted (i.e. the order in which they appear in the paper) in the following order

Funeral Director

Husband/Wife/De Facto

Children/Step Children

Parents

Siblings/Brothers/Sisters

Grandchildren/Grandparents

Other Family

Clubs/Friends

Is it possible to pre-book a space and then send the material later?

It would be easier to complete the entire process in one sitting. However, we understand that sometimes delays happen (e.g. waiting to confirm details), in such cases you can email us on enquiries@mytributes.com.au.

Would it cost extra to add colour, images, fonts etc?

Notices are inclusive of colour. The addition of images and changing font size may change the cost of the notice.

Can we personalise notices with images, quotes or poems?

Yes, you can personalise your notice by adding in photos, images, quotes or poems for your loved one Images are also available within News Concierge for your use. Copyrighted images require written permission to use.

Can I change the email address listed on my News Concierge account?

If you need to change your email address, contact helpdesk@news.com.au to arrange.

What are the business hours for placing a notice?

You can place notices via News Concierge, 24/7. However, for changes please email the News Concierge helpdesk on helpdesk@news.com.au or via the webchat option. They are available from 8am - 5pm (Mon - Fri).

What are the deadlines for placing a notice on News Concierge?

For notices appearing in print, the News Concierge deadline is one hour prior to the publication deadline which can be found here.

Online only/Digital notices can be published at a time of your choosing or as soon as they are released from hold by our moderation team.

What if I want to make last minute changes on News Concierge?

For any last minute changes on your booking, please contact one of our Helpdesk Representatives on 1300 058 002 and they can make the changes for you.

How can I give general feedback about News Concierge?

Why is my booking on hold ?

How do I get a copy of my printed notice / advertisement ?

You should receive an email automatically on the day of your notice / advertisement printing with a PDF of the page that your advertisement / notice appeared. If you have not received this, please email helpdesk@news.com.au or reach out via web chat option

How do I edit my notice / advertisement ?

If your booking is on hold you will be unable to edit your notice. Please reach out on the web chat for our support team to assist you.

If your booking is in draft status, click on My Orders and continue draft.

If your booking is submitted, click on My Orders, click on View Order, click on Edit (prior to deadline).

If you booking has already printed, you will only be able to edit your online listing.
