Thompson Anne It is with great sadness that the family of Mrs Anne Thompson publicly acknowledges her death on June 28, 2018 in West Mackay, with her requiem mass having been held on July 06. Although aged only 63, it is a great comfort to know she died peacefully in her sleep, having accomplished so much in that time. Her many family and friends who have visited her home over the past fortnight have shared countless memorable stories of her life, and it is touching to think about how much she loved you, and how much she meant to those closest to her. Known widely in the community for her support of the arts and work as a piano, theory, and voice teacher, it has been humbling to hear from so many individuals; students and families; community groups; community-centred school principals; and businesses (both local and international). Special thanks to family members Margaret and Brett Sturdy, and close friends Carmel Daveson and Stephen Hanly for helping organise and execute a truly special service for Anne, and to those who sang, read, and played beautifully on the 6th - we know how difficult this must have been. Her well-attended funeral from both Mackay residents and those who travelled across the country is testament to her place in your hearts. Thommo, Ben, Jaye, and Rian send their deepest thanks for helping us celebrate such a wonderful life. 6847891aa (nee Sturdy)
