The gates of Heaven opened wide,

And a special young man walked inside.

With tears we saw you suffer,

We watched you fade away,

Our hearts were slowly breaking

As you fought so hard to stay.

You did not want to leave us,

But you did not go alone,

For part of us went with you,

the day God called you home.

To hear your voice, to see your smile,

To sit and talk with you a while,

To be together in the same old way,

Would be our only wish today.

We laugh, we cry, we play our part,

But behind it all lies a broken heart.

We hide our tears when we speak your name,

Without you Mark life’s not the same.

To the world he was but one,

To us he was the world
