Sir Andrew Grimwade CBE

The members of the Felton Bequests’ Committee express their deepest sympathies to the family of our Chairman, Sir Andrew Grimwade, who died on 30 January 2023. Serving the Committee since 1973, Sir Andrew ensured that Alfred Felton’s wishes to benefit Victorian charities, particularly those that support women and children, and to donate works of art to the NGV, were fulfilled in a manner that will benefit many generations to come. Like his other significant contributions to the community, Sir Andrew’s service to the Committee was characterised by generosity of spirit and good humour; he was our friend, mentor and guide and he will be greatly missed.
