The Language of Us
Doris Falidis-Nickolas’ poetry beautifully captures love, loss, and remembrance, offering comfort to those navigating grief.
Born in Nambour 30.1.1963.
Very sadly passed away at Cairns
23 years ago today
Remembering a lovely young aussie lass
bright, pretty, polite and sweet.
Whose freedom ended Christmas 1979.
Her life thereafter controlled
If only, we should have forseen
He’d taken you from your family
Out of spite and jealousy, you were just 16.
You’d have graduated from Kepnock High
and in your dear dad’s hometown.
The year 1978 we were so proud
Three lives lost in just 2 years
by then you have disappeared.
Alas, you have no grave for me
to bring you flowers.
I will never ever forget you.
You are on my mind every day.
I miss you so so much
and the times we could have had
Your story will be told
One day my dear, we meet again, until then .........
Your loving Brother, Gary.
Now at Peace
