Simon Townsend: Pioneer of Australian Children's Television
A tribute to Simon Townsend, creator of Wonder World, celebrating his contributions to Australian children’s television and his lasting legacy.
The Mentone Grammar Community is shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of a beloved Mentonian and Tony Drinan Award winner, Shane Warne (Class of 1987). Shane is regarded by many as the greatest leg spinner of all time and a true international cricketing legend. He enjoyed a long and illustrious career from 1990 until he officially retired from all forms of the game in 2013.
At School, Shane captained the Mentone Grammar AGSV Premiership 1st XI cricket in 1987 and he remains an inspiration to our cricketers today, as he does for so many around the world.
We mourn the loss of this sporting great and our thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family, especially his three children, at this devastating time.
