Vale Linda White

legalsuper acknowledges with deep sorrow the passing of Linda White, a Labor Senator for Victoria and former director of legalsuper nominated by the Australian Services Union.

Linda served on the legalsuper Board with distinction, including in the role of Deputy Chair and on a range of sub-committees during her tenure. She retired from our Board in 2017.

Linda had a deep commitment to affirmative action and as her parliamentary colleagues attest, in her brief time in Canberra Linda had a profound impact on a number of related matters including better access to superannuation for women.

Linda practiced as a lawyer in her early professional years and the list of organisations with which she held senior honorary positions demonstrates the important place that civic duty held in Linda’s life.

May she rest in peace.
