Newtown & Chilwell mourn the passing of its inaugural Club legend, Len Alford.
All clubs have a Len, but we believe in our heart of hearts, that our Len is the original - the real deal.
Across five decades, Len has been the glue, the centre of our Club. He has been the absolute constant - a friend to all that have met him. This unpresuming, humble man has been loved by every player, member and supporter of our Club and has made a lasting impression on everyone.
His impact on our Club and his community is immense and forever lasting.
Len has demonstrated over his life time, values that inspire us all -of service to one's community, loyalty and common decency.
He has left a legacy that may never be matched.
