Our lives were enriched by having Nick Allen as a friend over so many years.

Always an inspirational optimist, he did not even allow his illness of recent times to dampen his enthusiasm for life. His abilities to turn the medical challenges he faced into another opportunity to analyse it from all angles and come up with a positive was a talent to inspire us all.

Our lives are diminished by the gap that will never be filled.
