ASCHE, Austin

The Judges of the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory acknowledge the recent passing of the Honourable Austin Asche. His Honour was appointed as a Justice of the Supreme Court in 1986, and served with distinction as Chief Justice of the Northern Territory from 1987 to 1993 before being appointed as the Territory’s Administrator from 1993 to 1997. His Honour was also the long-term Chair of the Parole Board and the Law Reform Committee. His Honour had a deep and enduring commitment to the Northern Territory and his contribution to this community has been beyond measure.
