The Hon Austin Asche AC KC

The Northern Territory Solicitor-General’s Chambers extends its condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of The Honourable Austin Asche AC KC.
Mr Asche was originally from Melbourne and served in the Royal Australian Air Force from 1944 to 1946 before studying law and arts at the University of Melbourne.
His Honour was appointed one of Her Majesty’s Counsel in 1972, a Judge of the Family Court of Australia in 1976, a Judge of the Northern Territory Supreme Court in 1986 and the Chief Justice of that Court in 1987. He served as Administrator from 1993 to 1997 and was the Chair of the Northern Territory Law Reform Committee for many years.
His Honour will be remembered for his tireless contributions to the administration of law and an unwavering dedication to the Northern Territory.
