Known in the Broadcasting Industry as John Kerr.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of the pioneers and great successes of radio broadcasting in the 1960’s and 70’s.
John was born in Abazzia, Italy in December, 1943 to loving parents Guerrino Rudolfo and Olivia Eugenia Cherbaucich.
John was proud to receive his education at St. James Christian Brothers College in The Valley and for his final two years at St. Lawence’s College, South Brisbane. He was also a daily regular at “Rumpus Room” on Radio 4BH where the radio bug really bit!
During his wonderful career, John worked at Radio Stations 4GY, 4IP, 4BH, 6KY, 4BH, 4KQ, and 2UE.
John will be remembered by his sister, Liliana, Brother in Law Graham and Nephew Quinton as well as a myriad of friends and fellow members of the Broadcasting Industry. In accord with Johns wishes, a private service has been held. Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made in Johns name to, Goodna Street Life Charity – 3818 9417.
Rest In Peace old mate, you’ve earned it.
