Joyce Kathleen Court (nee Compton)
Petty Officer in the Women’s Royal Naval Service (WRENS) specialising in signals and decoding. Enlisting in 1941 Joyce went ashore at Normandy in the first days of Operation Neptune (D-Day). Following the war she continued in the British Navy as a member of Lord Mountbatten’s staff, stationed in Malta. Late of Hobart.
Beloved daughter of Percy and Kathleen and twin sister to Margaret. Adored wife of the late Michael Court. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Kathleen and Hartley, David and Nicole, Olivia and John, and Angela and Liam. Cherished grandmother and great-grandmother of Haylen, Clara, Agatha, Ellen, Alexandra, Sarah, Isaac, Alec, Sean, Maha, Sama and Emily-Rose.
