
Simon Townsend: Pioneer of Australian Children's Television
A tribute to Simon Townsend, creator of Wonder World, celebrating his contributions to Australian children’s television and his lasting legacy.
Gerald (Geoff) Cramer beloved husband of Dawn died peacefully at age of 93 in the RSL home at Myrtle Park on the 22/12/2021. Geoff is survived by his children Debra and Mark, and his three loving grandchildren: Mark, Gwyn, and Jessica.
Geoff was a veteran navigator of the Vietnam War. He achieved exceptional results as a Bombing Leader of No. 2 Squadron. In March of 1969 he was awarded a Top Gun plaque from the U.S. Air Force 35th Tactical Fighter Wing for bombing accuracy. He also created a RAAF record by completing 3000 flying hours after his 275th mission. For recognition of his service he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for gallantry.
Geoff left the Royal Australian Air Force in 1975 after 25 years of service, and achieving the rank of Squadron Leader. The funeral ceremony is to be advised.
