The Language of Us
Doris Falidis-Nickolas’ poetry beautifully captures love, loss, and remembrance, offering comfort to those navigating grief.
D'ALFONSO,Umberto (Robert).Who is going to fix things for us now? We are going to be lost without you. Thank you for passing down all your wisdom from working in the shed repairing and building things from scratch to stoking the fire to bake the bread that Mum made. You taught us to be good and honourable people and we will continue your legacy and make you proud. Dad, you are the strongest and most beautiful Dad ever. You fought so hard to stay with us defying the laws of medicine but we know you will never be too far away and will still be seated at the head of the table for dinner on Sunday nights with your beloved family. We'll miss watching the soccer together and all the funny things that you used to say and we will always have the pasta and coffee ready for you.The world is a poorer place without you and we miss you terribly. Don't worry we will look after Mum. We love you Dad always and forever.Teresa, Rino, Lisa, Sam and Carmelina
