Quincy Jones
Remembering Quincy Jones: the legendary music icon, producer, and philanthropist whose profound influence spanned over seven decades and inspired generations.
FOLTZ,
Michael Robert
Born 14 Dec 1946
Parents, Donald Robert Foltz, orig of South Dakota USA,
and Clarice "Terry" Foltz
(nee Colborne, orig of Mt Morgan and Rockhampton).
Brother of Karen Donita Elizabeth ("Dogeater Lizardbreath" in her youth, a la Mike), and beloved Uncle, Grand-uncle, and Great-granduncle, of Roger, Jessica, Alice and Will.
Late of Park Ridge, but also...
Pampling St, Camp Hill in his youth, Kuring-gai Avenue, Holland Park West,
Coorparoo and Norman Park,
Barbet Place, Burleigh Waters,
Clark St, Biggera Waters.
Mike's friends, colleagues and associates are sadly informed of his peaceful passing in the care of the magnificent Logan Hospital Palliative Care team, following a brief illness.
His life embodied every stanza of Kipling's "If", and his faith and inner strengths shone to the last. Mike overcame a fractured skull from a serious fall in 2020 to have his licence restored, live independently, move once and recently drive to Sydney and back to see his lifelong mate, Tony.
He did not hesitate to go,
with a pin in a broken femur from 2022 and all.
"If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there
is nothing in you
Except the Will which says
to them: "Hold on!"...
For Mike, those words
were never necessary.
It was his nature.
