David Lynch: A Visionary in Film and Art
Celebrating David Lynch: visionary filmmaker, artist, and storyteller whose surrealist masterpieces reshaped modern cinema and television.
National Trust of Australia (Queensland) is saddened by the passing of Dr Dorothy Gibson-Wilde (OAM). Dorothy was passionate about the preservation of Queensland's history. Her dedication was felt through her care of Townsville Heritage Centre. Dorothy and her husband Bruce have lovingly looked after this special National Trust property. On behalf of the Board of National Trust in Queensland we pass on our deepest condolences to Bruce and his family at this very difficult time.
"Dorothy was not just an excellent researcher and writer, she shared her considerable knowledge and passed it on to the younger generation. She was humble in her achievements and always gave her time freely to help others both professionally and personally. Six years ago we worked together on a project naming streets in “The Village” development in Townsville. I recommended that she be recognised in the residential precincts of ‘Great Townsville Women’; this eventuated and her name and achievements will always have a physical place in ‘Gibson Wilde Pocket’. I will miss sharing knowledge with someone who loved our local history and wished to see it preserved and recognised even more than myself. R.I.P Dorothy”
