It is with great sadness that we announce

the passing of

our friend and colleague, Ian Graham.

Ian was part of the Eynesbury College

family for over three decades, and dedicated his life to teaching

and extending his

own learning.

He joined Eynesbury in 1990 at its inception, bringing an unparalleled passion to teach,

which was recognised

by his countless students and peers alike.

One of his mantras was 'independent learners are made at Eynesbury'.

As a mentor and guide, Ian instilled knowledge, inspired curiosity,

and nurtured potential with each of his students.

His record as an Economics teacher

was reflected in the achievements of his students, seven of

whom won the annual Economics Teachers Society Award

as South Australia’s highest achiever.

In recognition of his outstanding contribution to the learning of students, Ian was a recipient of a prestigious Excellence in Teaching award from the University of Adelaide.

Ian was appointed as Academic Director of Eynesbury College

in 2015.

His long-term interest and commitment to the learning of students

was reflected in his appointment as a

life member of the Australian College of Education.

Beyond his learning and teaching accolades,

the true testament of Ian's profound impact

on the community was the respect and love shown by those that worked with him

over the years and

past students that

would remain in contact throughout their

careers, launched through his support

and guidance.

Recently, it was said by one of his past students

that Ian was a fabulous teacher and a kind man.

Each of those traits are hard to achieve.

It is an understatement to say that Ian was

both of these things

and so much more.

The friendship, generosity and,

most importantly,

time that he gave to so many people will

be deeply missed.

There is a quote:

“The key to immortality is first living a life worth remembering”.

By such a measure, Ian Graham’s legacy will continue for a long time to come ...

Ian has been privatley cremated as he wished.
