Aged 98 years, passed away peacefully in the loving care of the wonderful staff and volunteers at Rubicon Grove, Port Sorell on Friday 24th March 2023. Adored wife of Malcolm (dec.) and loved younger sister of Carol, Vera, Alf, Ted and Ida (all dec.). Beloved life-long friend of Margaret (dec.)..Treasured and loving mother of Peter, Prue, Dugald and Diana. Loved Mother-in-law of Julie, Trevor and Megan and to Paul. Cherished grandmother of Andrew, Daniel, Kate, Stuart, Liandra, Matt, Hannah, Maggie and Hamish and her great-grandchildren..Adored by extended family and friends as Joan, Joanie or Auntie Joan: a compassionate, bright, talented, humorous, humble and gracious lady who was companion, confidante, comforter, carer, comic and counsellor to so many who found pleasure in her company and shelter beneath her wing.
It was the closing of the day: She loos'd the chain, and down she lay; The broad stream bore her far away, The Lady of Shalott.
