Quincy Jones
Remembering Quincy Jones: the legendary music icon, producer, and philanthropist whose profound influence spanned over seven decades and inspired generations.
HAWKINS, Alan George
11th February 2019, at home as he wished in his 88th year. Son of Arthur & Stella Hawkins (dec’d), formerly of Murrumbeena, VIC. Alan was the loving husband of Margaret (dec’d). Father & father-in-law of Kerri, Lynne & Rob and Leesa & Gary. Grandpa of James, Dorian, Sebastian, Ryan, Simon, Nicholas and Kieren.
Alan was passionate & competitive about Golf, playing whatever the weather and remaining undaunted by small matters such as radiotherapy for cancer. When work got in the way, he retired early in order to play golf unhindered. An unshakeable belief that he could be the best at whatever he did saw Alan compile a varied work history, ranging from touring new sportscars to running small businesses. This passionate and often fiery man barracked for Collingwood with a one-eyed loyalty matched by few others.
In his views, Alan was also very black & white, perhaps softening into a few greys in his later years.
Alan loved travel and adventure, food and coffee with friends, and being the centre of attention, he excelled at that, and usually drew people to him with his enthusiasm for life.
In keeping with his wishes Alan was privately cremated on the 15th February, 2019.
