It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Chris Honig.
Eldest son of Albert Honig and Hazel Honig, nee Syme (both deceased).
Chris was cherished, loved and supported by his wife Sandra for 60 years of marriage. A proud and loving father of Melinda and Charlton. An outstanding father-in-law to Tony and Karen and treasured Papa to Thomas, Edward and Grace. Loved brother of David Honig, sister-in-law Mary and uncle to his nephews and nieces. Chris honoured his family as a man of fortitude, integrity, loyalty, humour and warmth.
Chris’ participation and leadership in the Wholesale Confectionery Distribution industry was a key part of his life for nearly 50 years.
His connection to Caulfield Grammar School spanned three generations and 70 years.
Chris shared his holiday retreat at Tarwin Lower with family and friends and his beloved black labrador dogs.
Chris’ enthusiasm for the great outdoors, travel, tennis and golf was infectious. His appreciation and value for true friendship over his lifetime was signified by wonderful neighbours, great colleagues and longstanding friends.
We are extremely grateful to Doctor Benjamin Brady, Cabrini Hospital and the medical teams who have supported Chris.
Farewell dearest Chris – travel well.
Labora ut Requiescas
At Chris’ request he will be cremated at a private family ceremony.
