Simon Townsend: Pioneer of Australian Children's Television
A tribute to Simon Townsend, creator of Wonder World, celebrating his contributions to Australian children’s television and his lasting legacy.
The South Australian Cricket Association mourns the loss of former First-Class cricketer Kenneth George (Charlie) Horsnell, who passed away this week at the age of 90.
A talented sportsman, Charlie played 16 First-Class fixtures for his native South Australia from 1953 – 1960, debuting in the Sheffield Shield on 13 November 1953 against Western Australia, and also played League football for Norwood.
Bowling pace from the left side, Charlie took 44 wickets for South Australia, including best figures of 6/80, which came against the old enemy Victoria and formed part of a ten-wicket match for the boy from Joslin.
SACA’s thoughts are with Charlie’s loved ones, with the West End Redbacks wearing black armbands on day three of their Sheffield Shield clash against Tasmania at Karen Rolton Oval.
