On 23rd April 2022, Fr Ian David Howells SJ died peacefully at St John’s Home, Toowong, Queensland, aged 91 years. Ian was a much-loved and respected member of the Society of Jesus, and ministered in Queensland for most of the last forty years, and in South Australia for nine years before that.

Fr Ian was in the sixty-second year of his Jesuit life, and the fifty-fifth year of his priesthood.
