Henning Kloevekorn Sr.,
aged 79, passed away on October 19, 2023, after a courageous three-year battle with mesothelioma.
He approached his illness with unwavering determination, embodying his principle "never give up." Surrounded by his immediate family in Adelaide, Henning's indomitable spirit shone until the end.
He leaves behind his devoted wife Irena, loving sons Patrick and Henning Andreas, cherished grandchildren, Misty, Finn, Saffron, and Lya, who affectionately called him Opa, and a community of friends and colleagues who will forever cherish his memory. Born on March 21, 1944, in Goch, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany, Henning married the love of his life, Irena Mary Kloevekorn, in 1975. Together, they built a life in Australia, where Henning achieved exceptional success in the corporate world. His roles included Chairman and Managing Director of Liebherr-Australia, showcasing his unwavering commitment to excellence. Beyond his professional achievements, Henning made significant contributions to the business community. He served as Chairman of the Chambers Committee in South Australia and was a Board Member of the German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce. Henning was a skilled private pilot, photographer, and painter, demonstrating his passion for creativity. In his memory, the family requests donations to The Mary Potter Foundation (marypotter.org.au) or the Cancer Council SA (cancersa.org.au) in lieu of flowers.
Henning Kloevekorn's determination in the face of adversity continues to inspire. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered with immense love and gratitude. The family will hold a private memorial service to honour his life.
