The Language of Us
Doris Falidis-Nickolas’ poetry beautifully captures love, loss, and remembrance, offering comfort to those navigating grief.
Dear Geegee,
I have enjoyed every single moment with you, the sleepovers, movies, Barbie shows, Scrabble and Uno, even when we cheat!
Our last weekend together at Taryn’s house was the perfect weekend, walking to the beach, making paintings and murals, playing cards and talking for hours and hours made me so happy.
I cannot imagine a more perfect weekend, and to think it is our last time together breaks my heart, it does also give me a reason to smile.
The last two days in the hospital have been amazing, playing cards - you still beat me somehow.
Talking to you even though you couldn’t respond was hard but still meant a lot to me.
I know I need to be strong but its really hard seeing how upset Dad the boys, Tayrn and Mum are.
I love you more than anything, I will miss you too much; but also I didn't want you to suffer anymore and my memories of you will be with me forever.
Love,
Scarlett (Princess)
