Valerie Joan Magee (nee Henshaw)
29.8.1937 – 24. 5. 2021
Much loved wife of Martin (Mick aka Captain M.W.P. Magee) (dec.) Adored mother of Fionna, Sean, Erin, Michael and Sarah. Devoted Nana to Isabel, Liam, Caitlin, Finley, Lucy, Kitty, Amelie, Evie, Ruby, Rafferty and Lola.
Loved and cherished by all who met her. Known for her warm nature and friendly demeanour. Always the last to sit down for family dinners and the first to get up from the table hence purposefully positioned closest to the kitchen. She loved a "splurt egg" for breakie and it was not her that "graunched" the car. Held in highest regard during her 40+ year nursing career from her training days at St Vincent's Fitzroy to her Charge Nurse days at Caulfield Hospital Ward 14 .
“She was my North, my South, my East and West, My working week and my Sunday rest, My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song; I thought that love would last for ever: I was wrong.
The stars are not wanted now: put out every one; Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun; Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood; For nothing now can ever come to any good.”
Held in our hearts for all time.
