MAYOR (nee Nall), _ Janet SpencerPassed away peacefully at St John of God Hospital, Bendigo on Mar. 14, 2016 after a short illness, surrounded by family.Beloved and devoted wife of 57 years to Chris.Adored and precious Mum to Sarah Mayor Cox and Ali Mayor Brakha.Cherished Nannie to Ollie, Hamish and Samuel Cox; Harry and Charlie Brakha. Loved youngest daughter of John Spencer Nall and Marjorie Nall (both dec.).Much loved sister of Helen Mayor (nee Nall) and Ken Nall (dec.).Loved sister-in-law of Dennis Mayor and Anne Mayor (both dec.) and Marjorie Nall.Dear mother-in-law to Peter Cox.`My dearest Jan, what a wonderful 57 years of adventure we have shared, taking part in Initiatives of Change in many parts of the world, not least our 9 years in India where our precious 2 daughters were born. Your generous and inclusive spirit said `there is always room for one more, come along.''_ Chris.Dearest Mum, Jan, Nannie, although you never quite believed it, you were a wonderful Mum, mother-in-law and grandmother.We loved you to bits and couldn't have chosen better.You were fascinating to be around, and you were fascinated by all those around you.You welcomed all our friends into our homes, wherever we made them: India, Armagh, Tooronga Rd, Holiday Hub Caravan Park.You unselfishly shopped, cooked, washed up, cleaned, sewed and entertained so that all felt welcomed.In your beautiful speaking voice you never minced words, but you had a diplomacy and grace about you that many envied.I will miss holding your hands and hearing your beautiful singing in church the most.' These last 2 years caring for you, have been the most life affirming and fulfilling years of my life. I am so grateful to have shared such precious times with you, and with Dad.Your caring and nurturing qualities, your artistic talent and musical gifts, your flair for entertaining and making friends, the way your shared an interest and lived into other peoples lives are all precious gifts that will live on in me.I am the mother I am today because of you.I can't imagine life without you Mum.My heart aches, but I find great comfort in knowing that you are now free of your worldly body.
