Quincy Jones
Remembering Quincy Jones: the legendary music icon, producer, and philanthropist whose profound influence spanned over seven decades and inspired generations.
Macca passed away peacefully after a recent fall and a short illness, having lived a life longer than I think he expected to. From premiership winning AFL player from Mayne, to merchant seaman to working the wharves as a fitter and turner, he enjoyed his mates at the Lazy Layabouts, who I am sure will raise a glass in his memory. As a lifelong, passionate fisherman we are sure he could remember every fish he caught, every bait he used, every mate he fished with and every beer he drank. A passionate reader of thrillers who would love nothing more than long days amongst his books he will be missed by his children, grandchildren and especially his favourite Poppy. Never one to make a fuss he specifically asked for no funeral or service of any kind. We will however return him to his favourite place, on the beach at Pt Lookout.
