MCKENNA, Br Raphael (Francis) SSS

Br Raphael died peacefully at Mercy Place, Parkville on Tuesday 24 September 2019, aged 93.

Raphael was professed in the Blessed Sacrament Congregation on 8 December 1951. Prior to joining religious life he enlisted in the RAAF and served there during 1944 – 45. Br Raphael served the Lord faithfully and generously over many years accepting appointments at both St Francis’ Church, Melbourne and St Peter Julian’s Church, Sydney. Raphael spent his last years at Mercy Place, Parkville. He will be missed by his family, his SSS brothers and his many friends. He will be remembered for his gentleness, prayerfulness, his exceptional memory of dates and his love of the Richmond Football Club.
