MONCRIEF, Sophie

Sophie Moncrieff was a deeply talented and gifted artist and educator whose career took her and her family to Shepherdson College on Elcho Island, Alyangula Area School on Groote Eylandt and Nhulunbuy Primary School at Nhulunbuy.

Her patient and deeply reflective approach to teaching allowed her students to grow as learners in a similar way.

Sophie’s passing is a devastating loss to our education community, particularly to the families of students she has nurtured and the colleagues that she has inspired.

Chief Executive Karen Weston and the staff of the NT Department of Education extend their deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Ms Sophie Moncrieff on their loss.
