Mum,

your passing has left a hole

in my heart, in my very being. You gave me my moral compass and taught me how to love Our Lord. You taught me the meaning of self-sacrifice in motherhood, that the ultimate act of

love is to be a mother and to put my family above all else. You showed me how to stand up for what is right, to embrace my individuality and you encouraged me to be a leader in everything that I do.

You gave me my sense of community and taught me

to be compassionate and humble. My immense love of music comes from you.

You were the person I would run ideas by and who I would call to check recipes.

I thought you loved me and my siblings, but when I had my children, I learnt that you can love more and that a grandmother's love was like no other. Mum, I will miss our daily phone calls. I will miss hearing your voice. I will miss your words of wisdom. I will miss my best friend. Rest in peace mum, I know you are

no longer suffering. For that,

I am grateful. All my love, your eldest, Shefia and Joseph, Josephine, Marie, James and Therese.

O my gorgeous mum. I love you. How do I live life now, without you in it?
