The Language of Us
Doris Falidis-Nickolas’ poetry beautifully captures love, loss, and remembrance, offering comfort to those navigating grief.
NICHOLS, Ginger.
Pops, what can I say? I let you down, I promised I'd bring you home and I couldn't. You were my father-in-law but so much more. You were Jayce's hero, his idol, he puts his hat on, he's got work to do. Hoob had the perfect cuppa all worked out, Pid's got the hot seat on ready, Em's got the barrow full, ready to listen to the stories. The memories are all we have left and there won't be a day goes by that one won't be told. It's time for you to have a beer with your Dad and maybe tell Nan what really happened to Torty the cat. You will live on through the boy. Thanks for being one of the most important people in my life.
Love you Pops.
Jodi, Mathew and kids. xx
