Quincy Jones
Remembering Quincy Jones: the legendary music icon, producer, and philanthropist whose profound influence spanned over seven decades and inspired generations.
Georgette Psaltis
addressed by her many friends in the Greek community as Γεωργία (Georgia).
Μy dear sister, Georgette, I miss you. Both of us with diminished mobility, we continued our lively conversations on the phone, about climate change but particularly over your staunch support for Labor. Your unexpected passing has deprived me of that.
You were held dear by my migrant wife Boziena, also known as Jenny (dec.), whom you helped so much to fit in our multicultural society, and our elder sister Mary and spouse Michael (dec.)
You were the treasured aunt of Peter, Helen, Demeter and Johanna, their spouses and numerous offspring, and the loved cousin of Stan and Jim, their spouses and children.
You were made welcome whenever you attended family get-togethers and you reciprocated with the traditional Greek warmth whenever we paid you a visit. it was lovely observing you enjoying being in the company of relatives and friends.
Georgette was a worthy daughter of John and Theodosia Psaltis (both deceased). She followed our mother’s example and served the community through membership and service in social and/or political organisations. During her long life beginning with her school-days she made many friends, then at workplaces and with neighbours. Georgette continued meeting up with her school-day friends until quite recently.
Georgette, you will be sorely missed by quite a lot of people, and especially by me, your older brother Efstathios Psaltis [also known as Eustace (Bob) Saltis]. I will treasure the memories for as long as I live.
