(William) Jack Purdy peacefully passed away aged 97 at John Flynn Hospital on Sept 20. Jack was loved and respected by all around him. He was a calm person of few words but when he spoke it was inevitably a pithy wry observation that got to the heart of the matter. Jack was a loving husband to Lavina and after her death he visited her grave with flowers every Sunday with a stop at Tropical Fruit World for lunch afterwards. Often in his later years people would stop him in the street to enthusiastically talk about the quality of his work as the builder of their house which always pleased him.
Jack was a much loved friend especially of Adrian (dec), Whisper and family, Heather, Gerard, Ross and Jean. He will forever be loved and deeply mourned by John, Anne, Cyan and family.
