PURNELL, Albert Earnest

10.3.1931 – 10.3.2022

Bert passed peacefully away after a long battle with Parkinson’s.

Loved and only child of the late Ivy Ashdown and Albert Purnell. Loved and loving son-in-law of the late Alan and Laura Steel.

Loving and loved husband of Nova for 66 years. Father and father-in-law of Philip and Vicki, Pamela and Mark McDermott, Dianne and Steven Hart and Roslyn and friend Phil.

Loving and loved grandfather of his grandchildren, Laura, Joshua, Adam, Kyron, Matthew and Emily.

He is now at peace, many thanks to Frank Nicklason, Chris Ashe and Jonathan Isles for caring for Bert with so much compassion over the years. Thanks also to the staff at the Gibson Ward for their care of Bert and his family during his final days.

Private funeral, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation and will be gratefully received online.
