The Language of Us
Doris Falidis-Nickolas’ poetry beautifully captures love, loss, and remembrance, offering comfort to those navigating grief.
RAMSAY Mary Mum, you taught and instilled in me to be a strong person, to stand up for myself and never fear. You built a dynasty that will live on forever, you raised me up to be the person I am today and I will be forever grateful. I will miss my visits to you, our chats, cuppas, cigarettes and sing-a-longs. You were the matriarch of the family, you stood by your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and never let anyone hurt them. Our song will never be forgotten. "Down the road she walks and there runs Mary, hair of gold, lips like cherry. It's good to touch the green, green grass of home." I love you so much. You will always be in my heart and your spirit will live on forever. You're gone and at peace now Mum. You fought until your very last breath, as we all knew you would. So until we meet again, rest in peace. Give Dad and Billy a big hug for us. _ your baby son Kevin, daughter-in-law Jenny and beloved grandchildren, Aaron, Shae and partners Barbara and Kane. Forever in Our Hearts
