Raymond Francis SMITH
8 April 1933 - 4 February 2019 Formerly Captain RF Smith 218043, Paymaster Australian Field Cash Office Terendak Camp, Malaysia 1967-1969; Paymaster Singleton Army Camp 1966-1967 and 1969-1972; 2IC Cash Office Murray Barracks, Port Moresby 1972-1975 and finally Department of Defence, Canberra for a total of 34 years service to army and defence accounting including civilian and uniform service having commenced his working life with the Department of the Army at Victoria Barracks, Sydney in 1956. Ray lived a full and happy life which included 28 years retirement in Urangan, Hervey Bay. Cared for by his close family in his later years and finally by the outstanding staff of Ward 2, Maryborough Base Hospital. Now at peace and reunited with his beloved wife, life partner and best friend of 56 years Gwenyth Margaret who passed away 9 August 2012.
