The Language of Us
Doris Falidis-Nickolas’ poetry beautifully captures love, loss, and remembrance, offering comfort to those navigating grief.
REED, Perc. _Perc, 2 years ago was when I met a true champion, yet I feel I have known you all my life. To have a friendship with a down to earth gentleman, family man like you will always be a treasured memory for me. Your unbreakable love for your wife and all your children was something so special. Something I just simply admired. Your desire, fortitude and true grit set you apart from everybody else. Not a whimper, "It's ok I'm fine" you would say, "don't worry about me". Every time something came along to make your life miserable you just seemed to smile and move along without much fuss. I remember one day you called me pal. Your beautiful daughter Marg said to me, I think my dad really likes you. You did call me pal on lots of occasions. For this I'm truly grateful. You showed me respect and kindness and this is why I will always call you my mate. _ Keith
