The Language of Us
Doris Falidis-Nickolas’ poetry beautifully captures love, loss, and remembrance, offering comfort to those navigating grief.
Nobby,
You were my father, confidant and best friend,
The one on whom I could always depend.
Your endless love, care and grace,
Were ever present on your face.
A silent strength and generous heart,
I dreaded the day we’d have to part.
I’d look into your soft blue eyes
and over the years I came to realise,
That looking back at me was the greatest gift…
Looking back at me was love.
It has been an honour to be your daughter
and I’m so very proud of you, my treasured father.
Love you Dad for always and forever
Take Mum’s hand, and once again walk together.
See you, love you, bye xox
