RIP - Barry Waters

A tireless fighter for employee’s rights, a man of integrity and strength, a mentor and friend to so many, a champion fisherman. A long-term water treatment fitter and turner, Barry was a respected Union representative for all employees at Groote Eylandt Mining Co. A man who stood for workers’ safety and rights, negotiated numerous Enterprise Bargaining Agreements, and was involved in the Joint Consultative Committee and Safety Committee at GEMCO.

He was a person who protected all employees, EBA worker Or Staff regardless, who found themselves being unfairly treated.
