To our dear Dad,
there are so many aspects of the person you are that we have aspired to emulate. Your morals, values, work ethic, humour, kind heartedness and generosity just to name a few. You have lived your life with fairness, respect and dignity, and the passing down of solid advice to anyone who came to ask for it. As a business person, your foresight was progressive, an approach which proved to be successful when together with your brothers you established what has now become a 65 year old institution.
As a father, you gave us the best in life and showed us how to treat others as you treated them. You instilled your business sense into us and taught us how hard work never hurt anyone. Your advice always proved to be correct when we sought it, and you supported us in our personal lives and in all our pursuits. You gave us the tools to solve life’s problems and as adults, you treated us like equals. There is no greater compliment than when someone tells us how much we are like you or like Mum.
As a father-in-law you welcomed me and from day one treated me as your own daughter and I always felt loved by you and Mum. There are so many words to describe what an extraordinary person you have been, but generous would be my favourite as you treated me and anyone you met with a smile and loving kindness. What made you special was that you made everyone feel special. I feel so proud and honoured to be your daughter-in-law.
As a husband, you showed the love to Mum that she deserved. You provided for her and protected her. You demanded respect for her from everybody and your love for her was unwavering. Together you built a life that led you to incredible opportunity and success and this was shattered when she had to leave you.
As our Pappou, we will forever miss your cheeky smile, our ice-cream dates and how you always greeted us with open arms. Your outpour of love was constant to us. Words fail to describe how much we adore you, we are eternally grateful for how you’ve provided and cared for us our entire lives. There was never a time where something we asked for was too much. We are beyond honoured to hold the Savvas name,
and we promise to do you proud.
Dad, your cheeky smile, your witty humour, the chats over a coffee, the lunches in the market are all things we will never share again but are treasured memories we will hold close to our hearts. We will never forget the amazing husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend you have been to so many.
With endless love, your loving sons,
Ross, Anthony and Alex, your devoted daughter-in-law Sophie
and your granddaughters, Eleni, Anastasia and Christina.
Rest in Peace now that you are reunited with the love of your life, Eleni. We will miss you.
We would like to thank the exceptional staff at Calvary Flora McDonald Aged Care for their first class care.
The respect and love they showed Con over the 2 ½ years he was there will always be remembered.
