The Scotch Family mourns the death of David Scott. Attending Scotch on scholarships from 1940 to 1944, David was a 1943 Probationer, 1943 Dux of French, a 1944 Prefect and 1944 Dux of Chemistry. Briefly teaching in the Junior School in 1945, David joined the Senior School staff in 1948, primarily teaching Physics and Mathematics. He was Head of Physics (1970-75) and Science (1976-77), and Form 6 Group Master (1970-77). He continued teaching after becoming Scotch’s inaugural Registrar from 1978 until retiring in 1988. David successfully coached the 1st Hockey team for 16 years. With a limitless work capacity he was a great organiser and administrator, but also had an excellent rapport with students, many of whom found he made Maths easy.
Scotch extends its sympathies to his daughters Lyn, Jan, Karen and Deb and their families.
