My Darling Sam,
Not a day will go by that I won’t be missing and thinking of you. We have shared over 50 years together, through our ups and downs. Five beautiful children and five adorable grandchildren, which will always remind me of our love. I will always cherish the simple times that we shared, cooking for me every night, watching our sport together and the constant debates, which lead to your favourite line “what would you know Maria”. You were so strong and fought hard and long for your family until the end. You will always be in my heart. The love of my life.
Your dearest darling, Maria.
Dad,
We have so many fond memories with one another. The never-ending phone calls, the shopping lists of things that you wanted but never needed. You would watch all types of sports, specifically when watching soccer and the goalkeeper would do something exceptional you would always referto the Dino Zoff story that you told us more than forty times. The late-night chats that we would have were something that we looked forward to because we knew you was waiting for us.We were never able to take you out for dinner as you would go out of your way to call us and give an in-depth food critique for the next week as to what the chefs did wrong and how you could have done better. We will miss your random cake recipes, and your last minute “lick your chops” pizzas when we already had dinner ready. The way you sat in your chair and bossed us around is something we laugh about now. We loved your sarcastic sense of humour and the banter that we had, it was something only us kids understood. You would always have a different greeting depending on which child walked through the door, these are things that we will miss. The love that you gave us and the life lessons that were given have shaped us into adults that we know you are proud of today. We love you Dad always, from your boys, Frank, Lorenzo and Marco.
Daddy,
The words of 'THE PEST IS HERE' are words that I will miss forever. You showed your love in many ways, growing up with your cuddles on the couch will always be in my heart. You knew how hard it was for yourself and would constantly remind me to look after myself. You will always be the centre of our family, bringing us together with your food and sharing your special recipes. Always being apprehensive to cook for you. Chicken soup and minestrone was the only thing I was confident to make for you as your food was the best. No one understood the relationship we had, Mum would say it was like what you had with your Mum. Annoying, but at the same time loving. Perhaps unique. Father's Day, you would look forward to my cards. Only to laugh at me as they were describing how great I was! I will always be grateful Dad, for being that special father figure to my children. Daddy, I miss you already and will love you forever. Give Nina a big kiss for me.
Love your daughter.
Nonno,
The love that you gave us grandchildren and the wisdom and life lessons you taught us are our most valuable memories. These gifts that you gave us will continue to shape us as we grow. We will miss our weekly catch ups and the times watching cricket with each other. You were very protective over us grandchildren and only wanted the best for us. The cooking tips that you gave us are something that we hold dear to our heart. You would always listen to our story telling like it was the most interesting thing you had ever heard, which lightened up our day. The advice you gave us grandchildren will be passed onto our families one day. We love you so much and will miss you dearly Nonno. Love always, your grandchildren,
Angelo, Victoria, Anthony, Freya and Elio.
