The Language of Us
Doris Falidis-Nickolas’ poetry beautifully captures love, loss, and remembrance, offering comfort to those navigating grief.
Passed away in the loving hands of his son and daughter inlaw……2pm Thursday, 21st March, 2024…….in his beloved home of 55 years, following a brief illness
To my beloved Nonno……there are so many feelings for you I have that cannot be put into words……but in short……mostly I will miss being around you…..playing around, laughing and jumping all over you…..and hanging out….playing Jenga….dominoes…..cracking jokes….your expression when touching your warm face with my cold hands…..funny……I loved touching you…..and you me!!!
I will miss you more than anyone will know……likely more than EVERYONE!!!
I will never ever forget you……my mentor…..my play mate……the nonno everyone should have…..FULL STOP!!!
I will proudly carry your name forever and beyond…..knowing you were chuffed at this 200+ year tradition
I had no interest in your wallet……only interested in the love we shared in our hearts when we looked deep into each other’s eyes
Rest in God’s arms now, knowing I will pay respect to you till we meet again
We were blessed to have each other…….90 years apart……truly a gift from above
It is with profound love and gratitude that I wish you Eternal Life
YOUR ONE and ONLY LOVING GRANDCHILD
