TAN, Hock Lim

On Friday 9th September 2022, Professor Hock Lim Tan passed away at home peacefully with his wife Evelyn, daughter Melanie and son Alex by his side, after a 4-year battle with cancer.

Hock was a graduate of The University of Adelaide medical school in 1971 and devoted his life to his career, working all over the world including at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London, the Women's & Children's Hospital in Adelaide and most recently set up an Advanced Surgical Skills Centre at the National University of Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur

Hock was a paediatric surgeon and a pioneer in minimally invasive surgery. He excelled at his profession and was passionate about his patients. Outside of work, he loved his family, music, good food and travel.

He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
