Quincy Jones
Remembering Quincy Jones: the legendary music icon, producer, and philanthropist whose profound influence spanned over seven decades and inspired generations.
A very warm compassionate person who loved family and friends. She is remembered by all for being a character - good entertainer with jokes and stories at parties and occasions.
What shines above all is being a good parent and family person. There was a real passion and talent for craft work, to name a few - knitting, sewing, embroidery, rug hooking, porcelain dolls, Christmas ornaments...... There was always some craft work at home and she excelled at it with most of it framed or in cabinets. Her charity work at riding for disabled and making crafts for fundraising was a keen interest. In the earlier days she also regularly ice skated with the family and later skied at Mt Buller on many occasions.
She loved the snow and the atmosphere about the place, maybe a little bit of the dutch winter cold to remind her of her birthplace.
Worthy of a mention are our long summers in Torquay. We always went and will always have fond memories of our time there. Many times she would mention going to the toilets and coming back an hour later having caught up with the entire campsite street along the way. She was a great story person with a big personality and a big heart.
