Codan Limited announces with considerable sadness, the death of Ian Wall OAM, Co-founder and former Director, aged 91.
In 1959, Ian and his two friends – Jim Bettison and Alastair Wood – established EILCO (The Electronics, Instrument and Lighting Company), eventually becoming CODAN. Ian was an integral part of the team for over 50 years, serving as Board member from 1959 to 2009. Ian was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in 2008 in recognition of his contribution to the community and service to business.
We extend our deepest condolences to Pamela Wall OAM, his family and friends, our CODAN staff globally, and to all those whose lives he touched through his generosity in his philanthropic work.
Ian will be remembered as a true icon of South Australian industry, and he will be dearly missed by all.
Rest in Peace, Ian.
