Quincy Jones
Remembering Quincy Jones: the legendary music icon, producer, and philanthropist whose profound influence spanned over seven decades and inspired generations.
Late of Gold Coast, Formerly of Perth.
Passed away peacefully on 20th September 2024. Aged 92 years.
Shirley is predeceased by her husband Warren Wiltshire, beloved parents Cyril Francis and Florence May Morgan, and nephew Kim Francis Morgan. Shirley leaves behind her brother Frank Edgar Morgan and her most cherished little four pawed friend Tonto.
Though separated by a vast part of the world she cherished her niece Michele Morgan, great nephews Britain and Morgan Lovsin, Kim’s children Holly, Ali and Chris Morgan and a total of 10 great-great nieces and nephews. Her part in their lives in Canada is legendary, she was Aunty Shirley to everyone she touched.
A proud Australian she bestowed on her Canadian family a steady stream of Aussie mementos “Our Christmas tree one year had a final count of 100 branch holding Roos and Koalas” Shirley derived so much joy from giving and eager to add each new addition of the family to her list. If you were on it, you were on it for life! If you had a Gold Coast tea towel in the drawer you were forever part of her family.
An energetic and vivacious adventurer, Shirley lived life to it’s fullest always ready for fun and armed with wit and good humour. Her loyalty and dedication developed life long friendships and among them she leaves behind Maree Farquhar and Val (Vilma) James, her most loyal of friends, who remained by her side through the best and challenging of times. They along with their families wish to convey their heartfelt loss and will hold a lifetime of memories of Shirley in their hearts.
In her final year Shirley resided at Ashmore Infinite Care where she quickly won the hearts of so many around her. Continuing to quip and poke fun wherever she could get a smile. Family and friends wish to acknowledge the kind and compassionate care of the nurses and staff who aided her through her final journey.
“Good byes are not forever, Goodbyes are not the end. They simply mean we’ll miss you until we meet again.”
Shirley has been laid to rest with a private burial, a memorial service will be held at a later date with details to follow.
