YOUNG, Gillian (Gill) Margaret

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gillian Margaret Young, beloved wife, mother, and friend, who left us after a life well-lived. Married to David Young for nearly 60 years, Gill loved her family, leaving behind her children, Andy, Liz, and Ros.

Gill had remarkable spirit and tenacity that was evident from a young age when she overcame polio, a testament to her resilience and resolve; hallmarks of Gill’s approach to life. Growing up in Adelaide, she formed a lifelong friendship with Sue Borrick, and while their paths took them in different directions, they considered each other sisters to the end.

Throughout her life, Gill pursued her passions with great enthusiasm—whether it was horse riding, gardening, golf, or mosaics, her determination to do what she loved always shone through. She approached life with a unique perspective and a “can-do” attitude.

Gill was deeply loved by all who knew her, and her presence will be profoundly missed. She was cherished by her beloved husband David and leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and inspiration.
